Beyond The Tracks Artist Details - Saturday

The second in our 'Artist Details' series will cover the acts performing on the Saturday of Beyond The Tracks Festival 2017. For info on the artists performing on the Friday and Saturday of the festival, go here:

Local heroes, Ocean Colour Scene, will be headlining the stage with a euphoric hometown performance on Saturday 16th September. Their hometown shows are always joyous occasions, and this one will be no exception as they bring the city to life with such anthems as 'The Riverboat Song', 'The Day We Caught The Train' and many more.

This guitar quartet, energetically led by Paul Smith, will descend on Birmingham for Beyond The Tracks 2017 with their powerful live performance. Witty lyricism and sing-a-long choruses have made Maximo Park one of the UK's true favourites. With new album 'Risk To Exist' having been released this year, we're sure their performance won't be one to miss.

Hailing from Liverpool, The Coral are set to bring a career-spanning, genre juggling performance to Eastside City Park in September. With their music encompassing Mersey pop, psychedelic rock and rich ballads all delivered with a classy pop sensibility, this is a band that can never be referred to as monotonous!

For Birmingham, The Twang are a band that is very close to the city's heart. Their rebel rousing swagger and Indie rock classics make them a must-see for this year's festival. With anthems such as 'Ice Cream Sundae' and 'Push The Ghosts', coupled with heart-bursting 'Either Way', their performance will be one to remember.

Indie Royalty, Carl Barat - originally from The Libertines - will be playing with his band The Jackals to perform tracks from their album 'Let It Reign'. With a few Libertines classics thrown in for good measure, this set will be packed with lyrical punch from a generational titan.

We have some of the most exciting emerging acts from Birmingham, taking to the stage on Saturday 16th September. The first to mention is indie-pop band Jaws, bringing fan favourites 'Cast', 'Right In Front Of Me' and 'Just A Boy' from their most recent album, 'Simplicity'.

Another exciting emerging act coming out of Birmingham is Superfood, signed to the label City Hit. Their raucous live sets are gaining them national acclaim, and we except that this performance will continue doing so!

The third fresh, upcoming Brummie act are The Americas. These 70's rock evangelists produce a listening experience which has been described by BBC Introducing as, "when you listen to The Americas you're in a good mood, when you listen to The Americas life is good".

Yet another to add to the list of excellent talent produced by Birmingham, are Health & Efficiency. The guys describe their music as a combination of textures, beats, melodies, noise and the like... something unique to their brand of art-rock experimentalism.

The Sandinistas joins our line-up of emerging acts, this time hailing from Wales. Their debut single single 'Ready To Blow' was an instant success, after premiering on Huw Stephens' Radio 1 evening show. Fans have been wowed by their pure punk pop adrenaline.

Birmingham-based trio, Table Scraps, continues our list of fresh talent. The band describe their music as raw, dark, fuzzed out garage rock. This trio packs a punch and shows us what brilliant DIY music is out there.

Local boys, Sugarthief, are not ones to be bogged down by labels about their music, instead focussing on crafting the best tracks they can. The band say "Some call us Indie or Indie Pop/Rock - we just create the music and let others create the pigeon holes".
